Dear American Apparel, I would like to ask what you think you are doing? What is it that you are trying to sell and why is it that you think that rating womens butts is the key to selling your product? Have you thought at all about what other messages you are sending by doing this? Why is it that butts have to be rated? What happened to character and personality? I understand that you have a more difficult time showing that but honestly what a challenge to take instead of taking the “easy” way out and putting sex in to sell. Don’t you think that there are enough areas in our culture that sell women as objects. I wonder why it is that we are all fine with it. Why is being a sex object ok? How come that doesn’t bother anyone and doesn’t bother you in the fact that it is also what you are saying and selling by having this contest. Come one, you and any other company can do better than that. I think it is also sad that most of what is displayed on your website is young women in sexy attire and positions. You are a retail store not a strip club or adult store. I just don’t appreciate the way that women are being advertised and I am trying to understand how it relates to your product. But no product ever needs to use a female as a sex object to sell. I say, stop using women this way and be creative for a change. There is enough sex and especially using women as a sex selling object. It doesn’t sound that far from strip club, porn and even human trafficking. Please don’t encourage these industries by also using women in the similar fashion. Be smart, be creative and actually realize what other messages you are putting out other than just your product.

Has anyone ever stopped to think about how much female nudity they have seen in media compared to male nudity?

Male nudity in media doesn’t even equal close to half of female nudity shown.

Does this bother you?

How much female breast, butt and vagina have you seen compared to male penis, balls and butt?

You wouldn’t believe the number difference.

This is what the world is at. Still focusing on showing female nudity because that is “acceptable” and male nudity is “acceptable” only in certain cases. Why is it that females have to be naked more compared to males? My main question is that why is it that the female breast, which is nudity, is exposed to the point of trying to make it be not nudity but just normal?

Can you count how much breast nudity you have seen in media in terms of female nudity?

Ratings clearly term it nudity.

It is very difficult for me to realize how many female breasts my boyfriend has seen in media compared to how many balls or penises I have seen. I think that this does cause problems in our society. Males think that they can touch breasts and that it is the main area to touch on a woman but that isn’t true. I love and long to be touched more on my face, neck, back, legs, hands, arms, tummy, etc; but those parts of my body get the least amount of attention. Because the female breast has been pushed into the face of every person more than any other part of the female body, it is now become one of the main places to touch for males. It would be nice if he saw how much other parts of my body want to be touched more than my breasts. 

This is just one personal example of how the amount of female nudity exposure is causing certain effects in romantic relationships.

I am graduating from college with a BA in photography art right. I have been waiting for my announcement cards and I got them today.

One: there are for a Mallory Ann Anderson and not Emily Joy Anderson

Two: it is for a BA in art history not in art photography.

Who would have guessed that I would get anothers annoucement cards.

I admit that I can understand in a way the reason the girls attacking the trans girl had for being upset. The reason was because they felt that the trans girl was still male and this made them uncomfortable that this person was in the female restroom.

I can understand being uncomfortable with that and uncertain but do you do what these girls did?????????????
